The China Grand Tour is one of our longest tours, allowing you to fully immerse yourself in the Eastern side of China. It includes the popular Yangtze River Cruise, a few domestic flights, and overnight Express Trains, to give you the opportunity to see the best of the beautiful natural landmarks, as well as many World Heritage Listed Sites. Day 01: Depart Australia – Arrive Beijing (-/-/-)
Fly to Beijing. On arrival, check in to the Nikko New Century hotel for three nights stay.
Day 02: Beijing (B/L/D)
Tour Tiananmen Square, the Forbidden City, and the Summer Palace. In the evening you will enjoy a feast of Peking Duck, with an entertaining acrobatic show.
Day 03: Beijing (B/L/D)
Explore the Great Wall and tour the famous Ming Tombs. Return to Beijing for free time.
Day 04: Beijing (B/L/-)
Explore the Temple of Heaven and the Hall of Prayer for Good Harvest. Spend the afternoon at leisure.
Day 05: Beijing – Xi’an (B/L/D)
Morning flight to Xi’an. Visit the Provincial History Museum. Feast on a Dumpling Banquet followed by a show of Tang Dynasty singing and dancing.
Day 06: Xi’an (B/L/-)
Full day tour including the famous Terracotta Warriors, and the Wild Goose Pagoda.
Day 07: Xi’an – Shanghai (B/L/-)
Take a tour to the Drum and Bell Tower Square, the Muslim Quarter and food market. Afternoon flight to Shanghai.
Day 08: Shanghai City (B/L/D)
Tour Shanghai, including the Bund, People’s Square, Shanghai Museum, Chenghuang Market Old Town, and Xin Tian Di. Enjoy a panoramic view of Shanghai at night from the World Financial Centre.
Day 09: Shanghai (B/-/-)
Spend the day at your own leisure exploring Shanghai.
Day 10: Shanghai – Suzhou – Nanjing (B/L/D)
Morning transfer to Suzhou,visit Santang, popular for its gardens, silk, and embroidery. Afternoon train to Nanjing.
Day 11: Nanjing (B/L/D)
Full day excursion of Nanjing, including the Ming Dynasty City Wall Museum and a Qing Dynasty style bazaar surrounding a Confucian Temple.
Day 12: Nanjing – Yichang (B/-/D)
After breakfast, free until transfer to railway station for your highspeed train to Yichang. Enjoy a local dinner, before embarking on your cruise.
Day 13: Yichang – Xiling Gorge – Three Gorges Dam (B/L/D)
Sail through Gezhou Dam near Yichang. Visit the Three Gorges Dam. Sail through Xiling Gorge, then enter the Three Gorges Dam shiplocks.
Day 14: Wu Gorge – Qutang Gorge – Shennong Stream (B/L/D)
Enter Wu Gorge, then sail through Qutang Gorge. Take an excursion through the Shennong Stream Small Gorges.
Day 15: Fengdu (B/L/D)
Take a shore excursion to Fengdu, visiting either the ‘Ghost City’, or the new relocation village.
Day 16: Chongqing – Jiuzhaigou (B/L/-)
Upon arrival in Chongquin, disembark and take a tour of the city before flying to Jiuzhaigou. Stay overnight in Huanglong.
Day 17: Huanglong – Jiuzhaigou (B/L/D)
Visit Huanglong Valley, a magic landscape of limestone formations, waterfalls, caves, and ancient temples.
Day 18: Jiuzhaigou (B/L/-)
Spend a second day exploring the beautiful World Heritage listed valley.
Day 19: Jiuzhaigou – Chengdu (B/-/D)
Fly to Chengdu and visit the Panda Breeding Centre. An optional Face Changing Cultural Show can be arranged for tonight if time permits.
Day 20: Chengdu (B/L/-)
Morning drive to Dujiangyan ancient irrigation system. After lunch, visit Sichuan Cuisine Museum for a cooking class demonstration.
Day 21: Chengdu – Guilin (B/L/-)
Tour Chengdu including a visit to the nearby ancient town of Huanglongxi. Return to the city in the afternoon to visit Jingli Street and Kuanzhai Alley. Evening flight to Guilin.
Day 22: Guilin (B/L/-)
Visit Elephant Trunk Hill and Reed Flute Caves. Enjoy a free afternoon.
Day 23: Guilin – Yangshuo – Guilin (B/L/D)
Board a Li River Cruise boat to Yangshuo. Spend the remainder of the day exploring the streets and shopping of this small market town.
Day 24: Guilin – Kunming (B/-/D)
Fly to Kunming and visit Western Hill and Dragon Gate. Enjoy a Yunnan style dinner. Check in to your hotel for two nights stay.
Day 25: Kunming – Stone Forest – Kunming (B/L/D)
Travel by coach to the Stone Forest, a captivating maze of jagged limestone.
Day 26: Kunming – Australia (B/-/-)
Visit the famous Pu Er Tea House in the morning, then the West and East Pagodas, Golden Temple, and local silk factory before transferring to the airport for your flight home.
