Day 01: Arrival in Johannesburg – Waterberg Private Game Reserve (-/L/D)
Welcome to beautiful South Africa! Collect your rental car at Johannesburg Airport and drive to Waterberg Private Game Reserve, one of South Africa’s hidden gems when it comes to game viewing. The Waterberg area is the first biosphere reserve in South Africa recognised by UNESCO. The area is renowned for its spectacular scenery ranging from broad rolling hills to beautiful mountain terrain to bushveld savannah to wetlands and hot springs. There is plenty of wildlife to be seen in the numerous private game reserves and national parks. Arrive at the lodge in time for the afternoon game drive or relax after the journey. Overnight on a Full Board basis with scheduled safari activities at Mabula Game Lodge.
Day 02: Waterberg Private Game Reserve (B/L/D)
Start your day with an exciting game drive conducted in open safari vehicles and guided by experienced rangers, who know where and how to find the Big Five. Mabula offers game drives twice a day. Overnight on a Full Board basis with scheduled safari activities at Mabula Game Lodge.
Day 03: Waterberg Private Game Reserve – Tzaneen (B/L/D)
There’s a little bit of driving to do today: You will notice an ever changing scenery, lush vegetation, plantations, and mountains and not to forget the biggest Baobab trees in the world. The subtropical garden town Tzaneen, is also renowned for its abundant growth of about everything subtropical: avocados, nuts, mangoes, bananas, tea and cotton. Time permitting take the optional boat cruise offered by the lodge. Dinner, overnight and breakfast at Tzaneen Country Lodge.
Day 04: Tzaneen – Kruger National Park (B/L/D)
You have a date with the Big 5 again, so make your way to Kruger National Park! The Kruger National Park was founded in 1898 by Paul Kruger to protect the unique fauna and flora which shares borders with Mozambique and Zimbabwe. The ideal season to observe the game is our winter (May to September), since the climate is moderate and the landscape is dry and bleak. With the first rains in November nature revitalises. Simultaneously, summer is the time were most of the young animals are born. Check in and enjoy your first game drive in the after- noon. Overnight on a Full Board basis with scheduled safari activities at Hoyo Hoyo Safari Lodge.
Day 05: Kruger National Park (B/L/D)
There’s nothing better to experience the awakening of the bush early in the morning, when temperatures are still crisp or mild and the bush be- comes alive. Enjoy two scheduled game activities per day and track the Big 5! Overnight on a Full Board basis with scheduled safari activities at Hoyo Hoyo Safari Lodge.
Day 06: Kruger National Park – Ohrigstad (B/L/D)
Leave the animal kingdom behind and discover South Africa’s version of the Grand Canyon.Picturesque Panorama Route with its spectacular canyons, rugged mountains, misty waterfalls and lakes. Dinner, Overnight and breakfast at Hannah Lodge.
Day 07: Ohrigstad – Johannesburg (B/L/D)
Back to Johannesburg again for your overnighter. Expect excellent cuisine in either the hotel’s a la carte or boma restaurant. Overnight and breakfast at Indaba Hotel.
Day 08: Johannesburg – Mozambique or Zanzibar (B/L/D)
You’ve made a choice for your beach holiday already, so drive back to Johannesburg’s ORTI airport, where you drop off your rental car and check in for your flight (not included) to either Zanzibar or Mozambique. A driver will collect you upon arrival and transfer you to your beach accommodation, where you check in. The remainder of the day is at leisure, so get that bikini out and discover the beach! Overnight and breakfast at Casa Rex Boutique Hotel /Mozambique or Overnight on a Fully Inclusive basis with non-motorised activities at Diamonds Mapenzi Beach Resort/Zanzibar.
Days 09-14: Mozambique or Zanzibar (B/-/-) or (B/L/D)
White sandy beaches and crystal clear warm waters are waiting for you to be enjoyed for the next couple of days. Days of leisure. Overnight and breakfast at Casa Rex Boutique Hotel, Mozambique or overnight on a Fully Inclusive basis with non-motorised activities at Diamonds Mapenzi Beach Resort, Zanzibar.
Day 15: Mozambique or Zanzibar – Departure (B/-/-)
Depart for your flight home.
