During our Cultural Korea tour you will spendtime exploring bustling Seoul, a fusion of modern and traditional, then travel along the east coast. Enjoy delicious cuisine throughout your entire journey, and even learn how to recreate some specialties at home! Your professional tour guide will ensure you visit all the most important and intriguing sights, from the famous DMZ, to traditional villages.
Day 01: Arrive Seoul (-/-/D)
Arrive in Seoul. Check in to your hotel for the night. Enjoy your first traditional dinner at a local Korean restaurant.
Day 02: Seoul (B/L/D)
Today you will enjoy a walking tour of Seoul. You will transfer by metro and visit the Cheongdeokgung Palace and the Secret Garden, as well as see the Palace Guard Changing Ceremony. Then continue to the Insadong Antique Street, learn about Kimchi at the Museum, and explore some beautiful temples. You’ll also get to wander amongst the traditional homes at the Bukchon Hanok Village.
Day 03: Seoul – DMZ – Seoul (B/L/D)
Tour the famous Korean Demilitarized Zone, the border between North and South Korea. After lunch wander through the Gwangjang Food Market and try some delicacies, then visit the impressive Seoul Tower.
Day 04: Seoul – Busan (B/L/D)
This morning you will take the metro to the train station and ride a bullet train to Busan. On arrival enjoy a city tour with visits to the Gamcheon Cultural Village, Haeundae Beach, parks, temples, and more. Enjoy a delicious local dinner, then check in to your hotel for the night.
Day 05: Busan – Gyeongju (B/L/D)
Spend the morning exploring the famous Jagalchi Fish Market and Busan Tower. Your tour will continue after lunch, taking you to Kukje Market and BIFF Square. Then transfer to Gyeongju
by train where you will travel by coach. Enjoy a delicious local dinner and night tour of Donggung and Wolji (previously known as Anapji).
Day 06: Gyeongju (B/L/D)
Today you will see the best sights of Gyeongju. One of the highlights is a Korean Barbeque cooking class, which you will get to enjoy for lunch. Admire the sights and learn about South Korea at Tumuli Park, the Cheomseongdae Observatory, the Seokkuram Grotto, Gyeongju Museum, and more.
Day 07: Gyeongju – Andong (B/L/D)
This morning you will take a train to Andong. On arrival you will transfer to the traditional Hahoe Village to explore the museum and local markets. You may even be lucky enough to experience a local Hahoe Mask Dance.
Day 08: Andong – Poonggi – Danyang – Seoul (B/L/D)
After breakfast travel to Poonggi, stopping at the Ginseng Plantation on the way. Then continue to Danyang and visit the Rice Wine Brewery, before transferring to Seoul for the evening where you will enjoy the theatre and farewell dinner.
Day 09: Seoul (B/-/-)
Enjoy your last day in Seoul to explore at your own pace. Why not try a Kimchi making workshop so you can learn to make it at home, or dress up in Hanbok (traditional Korean costume)*?
Day 10: Depart Seoul (B/-/-)
After breakfast the day is free at your leisure until it is time to transfer to the Airport for your onward flight.
