Get Up Close to North Korea at the DMZ

Have you ever wanted a glimpse into North Korea? For many tourists, the closest you can visit is the famous Korean Demilitarised Zone, or DMZ. This border area serves as a buffer zone between North and South Korea, separating the Korean Peninsula in two. Military troops patrol the area, however neither side is allowed to cross the Military Demarcation Line (MDL), the area that the Armistice Agreement of 1953 was signed at the end of the Korean War. To visit this sometimes hostile area, you must be on a sanctioned tour with military escort.
