A combination of some of our “best of” tours, intricately designed to experience 3 in 1. We start in Japan, on the “Golden Route” and experience Japanese culture & history, sample the delicate authentic food and enjoy the beauty of the changing seasons. We then experience historic Formosa (Taiwan) and eat as locals in the bustling night markets and be captivated by the authentic Chinese culture and tradition. To finish, we stopover in Hong Kong. You can either shop till you drop, enjoy the variety of local delicacies or simply immerse yourself in the city on the double decker sightseeing bus. Temptation is instilled in this magical tour, with so many delights on offer at every turn.
In Taiwan you will enjoy Seat-in-Coach Touring, in Japan and Hong Kong you will be travelling Semi-independently.
Day 01: Depart Australia (-/-/-)
Enjoy your overnight flight to Tokyo.
Day 02: Arrive Tokyo (-/-/-)
Arrive in Tokyo, you will be met by our representative, who will help you board an airport bus to your city hotel.
Day 03: Tokyo (B/-/-)
After breakfast, start your Tokyo Morning Tour including Meiji Shrine, Imperial Palace East Garden, Asakusa Kannon temple and its shopping arcade. We finish in Ginza for free time shopping. Return to your accommodation on your own, with guidance from our representative.
Day 04: Tokyo – Mt Fuji – Hakone (B/L/-)
Prepare an overnight bag this morning, for your night in Hakone, as your main suitcase will be transferred directly from Tokyo to Kyoto. We then leave for Mt Fuji and join our Hakone Tour starting with a cruise on Lake Ashi, then disembark to take ropeway/cable car to the mountaintop, to view Owakudani Boiling Valley. After the tour, you will be transferred to Hakone where you can enjoy the hot spring spa facilities in your traditional ryokan Hotel.
Day 05: Hakone – Kyoto (B/-/-)
Transfer to Odawara and take the bullet train to Kyoto (approx. 2.5 hours). On arrival, you’ll meet our assistant who will walk with you to New Miyako Hotel, where you’ll stay for the next 2 nights. This afternoon you will make your own way to Kyoto Station and meet your guide. Enjoy Nara Walking Tour visiting Todaiji Temple, Nara Deer Park and Kofukuji Temple.
Day 06: Kyoto (B/L/-)
After breakfast, make your own way to Tully’s Coffee (or similar) to meet your guide. Start your Kyoto Full Day Tour visiting Kiyomizu Temple, Sanjusangedo Temple, Fushimi Inari Shrine and Arashiyama Bamboo forest.
Day 07: Kyoto – Osaka (B/-/-)
Transfer to Osaka after breakfast and enjoy your day at leisure in Osaka on arrival.
Day 08: Osaka – Taipei (B/-/-)
After breakfast, you have the morning to explore at your own pace until your transfer to Kansai International Airport for your flight to Taipei. Upon arrival, our representative will meet and transfer you to your Hotel.
Day 09: Taipei – Nantou – Sun Moon Lake (B/-/-)
Start your journey to the Sun Moon Lake. The area around the Sun Moon Lake is home to the Thao tribe, one of aboriginal tribes of Taiwan. Sun Moon Lake surrounds a tiny island called Lalu. Your bus tour travels around the Lake and visit the Wenwu Temple (also known as Literature-Warrior Temple – dedicated to Confucius as Master of Pen). We also make stops at Holy Monk Shrine and Ci En Pagoda. After touring we check-in at your next Hotel and enjoy the natural hot spring facilities. Day 10: Sun Moon Lake – Kaohsiung (B/-/-)
Drive to Fo Guang Shan Buddhist Monastery, the most famous & sacred Buddhist shrines of southern Taiwan. Here you will learn about Buddhism during the monastery walking tour, with a chance to taste Buddhist vegetarian lunch (extra charges apply). Communicate with some of the monks and nuns that inhabit the monastery while on the lookout for the huge Buddha statue. We then drive to Kaohsiung City. The tour will take you to Former British Consulate, Love River and Lio Ho Night Market, before retiring to your Hotel for the night.
Day 11: Kaohsiung – Kenting – Chihpen Hot Spring (B/-/-)
Kenting National Park, is on the agenda today, which is located at Taiwan’s southern tip – 60kms of coral-rimmed shoreline along three sides of the park provide its main attractions. Stops will be made at Eluanbi lighthouse, Maobitou coastal scenic area and Longpan Park, before we drive to Taitung via Southern Link Highway. Enjoy more natural hot spring facilities at your Hotel tonight.
Day 12: Taitung – East Coast Scenic Area – Hualien (B/-/-)
After breakfast, we have in store an exciting East Coast Tour! The East Coast National Scenic Area, known as “Taiwan’s last unspoiled land”, stretches 170 kms down the east coast of the island. Our tour will stop at Xiaoyeliu, Sanxiantai, Shitiping (Stone Steps), marble factory and showroom. Late in the afternoon, we will proceed to Hualien for check-in, at your Hotel.
Day 13: Hualien – Taroko Gorge – Taipei (B/-/-)
Travel to Taroko National Park, a beautiful, narrow ravine created by the Liwu river which has cut deep into the mountains of solid marble. The road travelled is carved into sheer walls of rock winding its way past forested peaks and cliffs towering thousands of feet above it, while hundreds of feet below a river roars past gigantic boulders. Passing by Tunnel of Nine Turns and Ci Mu Bridge, stops will be made at Swallow Grotto, Changchun Temple and Shakadang Trail. We will then drive back to Taipei with a stop at Qingshui Cliff and drive through Syue-Shan Tunnel (12.9 Kms) to arrive at around 6 PM.
Day 14: Taipei – Hong Kong (B/-/-)
Morning tour of Taipei City today, which includes the impressive C.K.S. Memorial Hall, National Palace Museum – where 70,000 Chinese artefacts are exhibited, Martyrs’ Shrine of traditional architecture and Taipei Handicraft Centre. Later we transfer to the airport for your flight to Hong Kong. Upon arrival, our representative will meet and transfer you to your Hotel.
Day 15: Hong Kong (B/L/-)
Today is a full day tour. Visit beautiful Cheung Sha Beach and Ngong Ping Village. We take a one way Sky Rail to Lantau Island to visit Giant Buddha before calling into Po Lin Monastery and enjoying a Chinese vegetarian lunch.
Day 16: Hong Kong (B/-/-)
Enjoy a free day in Hong Kong. You may like to shop till you drop or simply wandering along the Victoria Harbour, take some photos at Golden Bauhinia Square, enjoy a boat ride at Aberdeen fishing village or simply hop on the double decker for a city tour. Today is all about enjoying the delicious Cantonese cuisine, such as yum cha, at your own pace.
Day 17: Depart Hong Kong (B/-/-)
After breakfast, you have more free time until your transfer to the airport for your flight back to Australia.
