This tour will showcase the best of India’s highlights, as well as exciting experiences and discoveries that will appeal to travellers of all ages.
Day 01: Depart Australia – Arrive Delhi (-/-/-)
Fly to Delhi. On arrival meet and greet by our representative and transfer to the hotel.
Day 02: Delhi (B/L/D)
After breakfast we enjoy guided sightseeing tour of Old & New Delhi. Begin with Old Delhi as we drive past the renowned 17th Century landmark Lal Qila; the Red Fort Palace to reach Jama Masjid. Visit Jama Masjid; cycle rickshaws on our journey of Chandni Chowk. Visit the Gandhi Memorial before driving past New Delhi, the exterior the Parliament House, the War Memorial Arch (India Gate) and the Vice Regal Palace, the official residence of the President of India in New Delhi. Continue your sightseeing with the visit to Humayun’s Tomb and Qutub Minar.
Day 03: Delhi – Varanasi (B/L/D)
Fly to Varanasi. On arrival, transfer to the hotel. Afternoon visit a silk weaving village to witness world renowned Banarasi Silk (the only remaining custom). In the evening witness a grand prayer ceremony on the Ghats of the river Ganges.
Day 04: Varanasi (B/L/D)
Start your day with a sunrise boat ride on river Ganges, later start an excursion to Sarnath where Lord Buddha preached his first sermon at the deer park after his enlightenment. Late afternoon return back to Varanasi and explore this spiritual town.
Day 05: Varanasi – Khajuraho (B/L/D)
Morning flight to Khajuraho. On arrival, check-in at the hotel. After Lunch, visit the Khajuraho temples. After the sightseeing explore the nearby village on your own, meet the local people and witness their way of living in this small town.
Day 06: Khajuraho – Agra (B/L/D)
Wake up to a leisurely breakfast before travelling to Jhansi railway station to board the train to Agra. On arrival, we provide a transfer to your hotel.
Day 07: Agra (B/L/D)
Start your day with a sunrise visit to the famous Taj Mahal, the monument of love. Continue to visit Itima-ud-Daulah and Agra Fort. Agra is also one of the most important centres for handicrafts, made of marble and soft stone inlay. If time permits, we’ll take you to one of the factories to have a look at the marble in-lay work.
Day 08: Agra – Jaipur (B/L/D)
Fatehpur Sikri is an outstanding example of Mughal architecture and a UNESCO World Heritage. On arrival check-in at the hotel for 2 nights with the remainder of the day at leisure.
Day 09: Jaipur (B/L/D)
Visit Amber Fort with a decorated elephant ride. Photo stop at – The Palace of the Wind. Afternoon enjoy Jaipur City including City Palace Museum and Jantar Mantar; one of the famed observatories (of the heavens) which provides accurate information to this day.
Day 10: Jaipur – Jodhpur (B/L/D)
Today drive to Jodhpur, the bustling desert city. Afternoon visits to the Mehrangarh Fort (Majestic Fort) and Fort Museum. We also call into Jaswant Thada, a cluster of royal memorials in white in memory of Maharaja Jaswant Singh II. The evening is free to explore Sadar Bazaar in the heart of the city.
Day 11: Rural Experience (B/L/D)
Enjoy an adrenaline adventure by 4X4 through the semi-arid desert to witness wildlife and simple but colourful lifestyle of the ‘outback’. After a delicious packed picnic lunch, visit another local village before we complete this completely off the beaten path day. Its unlike anything else you will experience during your visit to Rajasthan!
Day 12: Jodhpur – Ranakpur – Udaipur (B/L/D)
Drive to Udaipur, passing lush green valleys, streams and heart capturing views before visiting Ranakpur. We enjoy lunch en route to Udaipur, before check-in at your hotel. Dinner will be served at your hotel.
Day 13: Udaipur (B/L/D)
Visit City Palace, Jagdish Temple, Museum, Jag Mandir and Saheliyon-Ki-Bari. We also visit the Bhartiya Lok Kala Mandir which is an Indian folk art collection followed by a visit to Jag Mandir, a temple dedicated to Lord Jagdish. Your evening is free to visit the numerous shops that mark the narrow winding streets of Udaipur.
Day 14: Udaipur – Mumbai (B/L/D)
Fly to Mumbai. On Arrival, transfer to the hotel. Rest of the day is free to explore.
Day 15: Mumbai Dharavi Slam & City (B/L/D)
Today’s city tour includes the gateway of India, Dhobi Ghat, Marine Drive, Hanging Gardens, the Gothic Victoria Terminus and the stately Prince of Wales Museum. Later we enter Dharavi Slum. A tour through Dharavi’s narrow alleys is quite an diverse adventure, here we view Mumbai from the rooftops, visit a local bakery and watch the women making the traditional poppadums.
Day 16: Elephanta & Bazaar – Depart Mumbai (B/L/D)
Enjoy a morning excursion to Elephanta Island and its caves by ferry. On your return, enjoy last minute shopping at Crawford Market. Enjoy farewell dinner before transferring to Mumbai airport to board your overnight flight home.
Day 17: Arrive Australia (-/-/-)
Arrive home in the evening.
