Come aboard and enjoy the picturesque landscapes, the magnificent forts and adventurous train journeys. India is blended with culture. This tour provides a taste of Indian heritage, fauna and people. You will cover most of your overland journey by Indian rail which is known one of the largest railway networks in the world.

Day 01: Australia – Kolkata (-/-/-)

Fly to Kolkata. On arrival, Meet & Greet and transfer to hotel. Stay next 2 nights in Kolkata.

Day 02: Kolkata (B/-/D)

Visit Victoria Memorial, then we pass the Howrah Bridge located over the Hooghly River, Eden Gardens. This quaint little fishing village has grown up to become the most populated city of India bearing the scars of more than three hundred years.

Day 03: Kolkata – Darjeeling (B/-/D)

The day is at leisure, to explore this city with a rich heritage, bustling streets and bewildering variety of facets. The intense dedication to the arts manifests itself in a plethora of festivals, dance, music performances and other cultural events. You can join an optional tour to visit Mother Teresa home; In the evening begin your Indian rail experience by transferring to the busy Sealdah Station to board Darjeeling Mail in air-conditioned sleeper class.

Day 04: Darjeeling (B/-/D)

Arrival at New Jalpaiguri in the morning, change to the narrow gauge toy train, pulled by steam locomotive provided running on the day or travel by car and enjoy an unforgettable scenic ride through the hills to Darjeeling. Remaining of the day at leisure with 2 nights stay at Darjeeling.

Day 05: Darjeeling (B/-/D)

An early morning excursion to witness sunrise over the Tiger Hill and visit famous Ghoom Monastery. Enjoy toy train ride and explore this beautiful hill station that conjures visions of serenity, of vibrant green hills steeped in splendour, a land of breath-taking beauty crowned by the majestic Himalayas. Afternoon visit Bazaar and experience daily life of the locals.

Day 06: Darjeeling – Varanasi (B/-/-)

Free at your leisure until travelling to New Jalpaiguri to board the overnight express train to Varanasi. Enjoy your overnight ride in air-conditioned sleeper class.

Day 07: Varanasi (B/-/D)

Morning arrival with a transfer to hotel. Later afternoon visiting various temples including Kashi Vishwanath Temple, Bharat Mata Temple followed by a visit to Silk Weaving village to witness the hand woven silk saris. Later in the evening witness Grand Prayer Ceremony on the Ghats of river Ganges.

Day 08: Varanasi – Agra (B/-/-)

An early start to enjoy sunrise boat rides on the river Ganges. Later proceed for an excursion to Sarnath, the once prime centre of Buddhist religion with a 2500 years old history. Board your overnight sleeper train to Agra. Overnight on board.

Day 09: Agra (B/-/D)

Morning arrives Agra and relax at the hotel. Enjoy a guided tour of Agra Fort and Itimad-Ud-Daulah also known as mini Taj Mahal. Remaining of the day at leisure.

Day 10: Agra – Ranthambore (B/L/D)

Early morning visit Taj Mahal – the epitome of love, stands on the banks of the river Yamuna built in the 17th century by the Mughal Emperor Shahjahan. Later check out and drive to Ranthambhore National Park. Reach Sawai Madhopur and assisted transfer to the hotel for 2 nights stay.

Day 11: Ranthambore (B/L/D)

Wake up early in the morning and prepare for the first game drive.The tiger is not the only attraction at Ranthambore, A variety of birds including Owlets, the ubiquitous Langur (monkey), Leopard, Caracal, Hyena, Jackal, Jungle Cat, Marsh Crocodiles, Wild Boar, Bears and various species of Deer are the other attractions. Afternoon we will enjoy another game drive before dinner.

Day 12: Ranthambore – Jaipur (B/-/-)

Travel to Jaipur, upon arrival check in into your hotel for 2 night’s stay, the remainder of day is at your disposal to explore the famous Jaipur Bazaar at your own pace or simply relax in the hotel.

Day 13: Jaipur (B/-/D)

After an early breakfast, proceeds for guided visit of Amber Fort, The most enthralling experience of Amber Fort is the gaily decorated elephant ride. Photo stop at The palace of the Wind. Afternoon enjoys Jaipur city including City Palace Museum and Jantar Mantar; one of the famed observatories.

Day 14: Jaipur – Delhi (B/L/-)

After breakfast, take a leisurely drive back to the Political capital of India. On arrival Delhi, check in at the hotel. Remaining of the day is at leisure to enjoy shopping or sightseeing.

Day 15: Delhi – Australia (B/-/D)

Begin the Old Delhi tour with a drive through the renowned 17th-century landmark Lal Qila; the Red Fort Palace to reach Jama Masjid. Enjoy cycle rickshaws on your most photogenic journey of the old Delhi. Visit The Gandhi Memorial; the resting place of the father of the nation. Later drive through New Delhi where you will see the exterior of the Parliament House, the War Memorial Arch (India Gate) and the Vice Regal Palace. Continue to visit Humayun’s Tomb and Qutub Minar. After farewell dinner, transfer to the airport for your overnight flight home.

Day 16: Arrive Australia (-/-/-)

Arrive home in the evening.
