Visit two beautiful neighbouring destinations that have some similarities, but are still vibrantly different. Both Japan and South Korea are filled with natural beauty, from famous majestic Mount Fuji, to picturesque Suncheon Bay. Explore South Korea’s cosmopolitan capital, Seoul, and take in bustling Tokyo in Japan. The cuisine in both countries will leave you wanting more, and your fantastic guides will take you through the beautiful temples, villages, castles, and more! Please note that this tour is a combination of Modular and Seat in Coach so your touring style will be slighly different in each country. Day 01: Arrive Seoul (-/-/-)
Arrive in Seoul. Check in to your hotel for the night. The rest of the day is free at your leisure
Day 02: Seoul – Gongju – Jeonju (B/-/-)
Travel to Gongju and explore the Tomb of King Muryeong and Gongsanseong Fortress. Continue to Jeonju and wander through the traditional Hanok Village.
Day 03: Jeonju – Suncheon – Yeosu (B/-/-)
After breakfast you will continue to Gwangju, home of modern democracy in South Korea. Visit the Bay Garden in Suncheon*, then continue to the port city of Yeosu and explore before checking in to your hotel for the night.
Day 04: Yeosu – Busan – Gyeongju (B/-/-)
Explore Jinjuseong Fortress, famous for its link to the Japanese invasion. Travel to Busan and wander through the Fish Market and take a tour of the beach area. Continue to Gyeongju and enjoy time at your leisure.
Day 05: Gyeongju – Andong – Wonju (B/-/-)
Today you will explore Gyeongju, a museum without walls, and visit the UNESCO World Heritage Listed Seokguram Grotto*. Then transfer to Andong and wander the World Heritage Listed Folk Village. Continue to Wonju for the night.
Day 06: Wonju – Pyeongchang – Mount Seorak – Seoul (B/-/-)
Visit famous Pyeongchang, then wander through the UNESCO Biosphere Preservation District of Seoraksan National Park, home to rare flora and fauna. Take the cable car to Gwongeumseong Fortress*. Afterwards travel to Seoul and make your own way to the hotel.
Day 07: Seoul (B/-/-)
This morning you will immerse yourself in bustling Seoul on a half day city tour. The afternoon is free for you to explore at your leisure.
Day 08: Seoul – Tokyo (B/-/-)
After breakfast the day is free at your leisure until it is time to transfer to the airport for your flight to Tokyo. On arrival in Japan you will be transferred to your hotel for two nights.
Day 09: Tokyo (B/-/-)
The morning will be spent at Meiji Shrine, strolling along the walking paths amongst the greenery of Meiji Jingu Forest. Then travel to the beautiful Imperial East Garden, and Asakusa. Return to the hotel on your own for an afternoon free at your leisure.
Day 10: Tokyo – Mount Fuji – Hakone (B/L/-)
Pack a small bag as your main luggage will be transferred to Kyoto. Today you travel towards majestic Mount Fuji, visiting the 5th Station and Hakone Ropeway. Relax on a magnificent Lake Ashi cruise before checking in to your hotel in Hakone.
Day 11: Hakone – Kyoto – Nara – Kyoto (B/-/-)
Transfer to the station by private car then take the bullet train to Kyoto where you will be met and transferred to your hotel for check in. Travel to Nara to explore Todaji Temple and feed the friendly bowing deer in the Park. Return to Kyoto for the night.
Day 12: Kyoto (B/L/-)
After breakfast you will enjoy a full day tour of historical Kyoto, taking in the wondrous temples and sights. Visit vibrant Arashiyama, and the Sagano Bamboo Forest, and don’t forget majestic Kinkakuji Temple, also known as the Golden Temple. Enjoy a delicious local lunch.
Day 13: Kyoto (B/-/-)
Enjoy a free day to explore Kyoto at your own pace. Why not explore the traditional tea houses in Gion and maybe even see a Geisha at work?
Day 14: Kyoto – Depart Osaka (B/-/-)
The morning is free at your leisure until it is time to take the shuttle from Kyoto to Osaka Airport in time for your onward flight.
