This is a fantastic combination tour for visitors who dream to visit Japan and Korea together in one trip, as it highlights a number of the most important and most tempting cities of these two highly-developed Asian countries, including Seoul, Busan, Mt. Sorak, Gyeongju, Tokyo, Hakone, Mt. Fuji, Kyoto, Nara and Osaka. Day 01: Depart Australia (-/-/-)
Depart on your overnight flight to Seoul.
Day 02: Arrive Seoul (B/-/-)
Welcome to Seoul the home of politics, economics and culture in Korea. Upon arrival, our representative will meet and transfer you to your hotel for check-in.
Day 03: Seoul – Gongju – Buyeo – Jeongju – Gwangju (B/-/-)
This morning we depart Seoul for Gongju and visit Gongsanseong Fortress, before moving onto Buyeo, an ancient capital of Korea. Visit Baekje cultural land where you will see a palace, castle and cultural hall. We then proceed to Jeonju to visit Jeonju Hanok Village, which showcases 700 traditional Korean houses called “Hanok”. Later on, we transfer to Gwangju, the leading city of Honam region and birthplace of a modern democratic movement in Korea and check in to the Hotel.
Day 04: Gwangju – Suncheon – Yeosu (B/-/-)
Start your city tour and visit Asia Munwha Maru for an introduction of Asian culture and street art. We then move to Suncheon where you will visit Songgwangsa Temple and Suncheon Bay, before calling into nearby city Yeosu to visit local Fish markets and sightseeing of the Industrial night scene. Enjoy some leisure time after check-in.
Day 05: Yeosu – Jinju – Busan – Gyeongju (B/-/-)
After breakfast, transfer to Jinju and see Jinjuseong Castle – the Chokseoknu structure is historically linked to the Japanese invasion in 1592. We then proceed to Busan and on arrival, start the city tour from Jagalchi Fishery Market, where you will have free time for lunch and wandering around. Later, transfer to Gyeongju. Gyeongju preserves a vast amount of significant and fascinating history and is an integral part of our visit in Korea.
Day 06: Gyeongju – Andong – Wonju (B/-/-)
A city tour is organised this morning including; Bulguksa Temple (UNESCO world heritage), Hahoe Folk Village, in Andong, which has preserved the housing architecture the Joseon Dynasty, Chiaksan Mountain, in Wonju and the Seom River that circles the area. As the capital of Gangwon Province for 500 years during the Joseon Dynasty, it maintains rich tradition and cultural relics.
Day 07: Wonju – Pyeongchang – Gangneung – Mt Sorak – Seoul (B/-/-)
This morning we move to Pyeongchang – the venue of 2018 Winter Olympic Games and nearby Gangneung, located between the Eastern sea and the mountain ridge, well-known for wide pine forests, clean sandy beaches and crystal blue sea. We also visit Seongyojang Folklore Materials Pavilion (residence of noble class) and make the short drive to Sokcho Mt, the main attraction of Seorak National Park (UNESCO World Heritage site). Seoul arrival in the late afternoon and check-in at the Hotel.
Day 08: Seoul – Tokyo (B/-/-)
After breakfast, start your half day city tour of Gyeongbokgung Palace – built in 1394 (the first five royal palaces during Joseon Dynasty), the Royal Guard Changing Ceremony, Blue House photo stop, National Folk Museum and Korean Ginseng Centre until your transfer to the airport for your flight to Tokyo. On arrival, you will be met by our representative and transferred to the Hotel for check-in.
Day 09: Tokyo (B/-/-)
After breakfast, start your Tokyo Morning Tour including Meiji Shrine, Imperial Palace East Garden, Asakusa Kannon temple and its shopping arcade. We finish in Ginza for free time shopping. Return to your accommodation on your own, with guidance from our representative.
Day 10: Tokyo – Mt Fuji – Hakone (B/L/-)
Prepare an overnight bag this morning, for your night in Hakone, as your main suitcase will be transferred directly from Tokyo to Kyoto. We then leave for Mt.Fuji and join our Hakone Tour starting with a cruise on Lake Ashi, then disembark to take ropeway/cable car to the mountaintop, to view Owakudani Boiling Valley. After the tour, you will be transferred to Hakone where you can enjoy the hot spring spa facilities in your traditional ryokan Hotel.
Day 11: Hakone – Kyoto – Nara – Kyoto (B/-/-)
Transfer to Odawara and take the bullet train to Kyoto (approx. 2.5 hours). On arrival, you’ll meet our assistant who will walk with you to New Miyako Hotel, where you’ll stay for the next 2 nights. This afternoon enjoy Nara Walking Tour visiting Todaiji Temple, Nara Deer Park and Kofukuji Temple.
Day 12: Kyoto (B/-/-)
After breakfast, we start your Kyoto Full Day Tour visiting Kiyomizu Temple, Sanjusangedo Temple, Fushimi Inari Shrine and Arashiyama Bamboo forest.
Day 13: Kyoto – Osaka (B/-/-)
Transfer to Osaka after breakfast and enjoy your day at leisure in Osaka on arrival.
Day 14: Depart Osaka (B/-/-)
After breakfast, you have free time until your transfer to Kansai International Airport for your flight back to Australia.
Day 15: Arrive Australia (-/-/-)
Arrive home in the morning.
