Our most popular combination tour takes you to all three of our northeast Asia destinations. Start with natural scenic beauty in Taiwan, explore the unique culture of South Korea, then wander through traditional temples and shrines in Japan. You will enjoy local experiences in each destination, from sampling local whisky in Taiwan, to feeding the friendly bowing deer in Nara, Japan. Please note that this tour is a combination of Modular and Seat in Coach so your touring style will be slightly different in each country. Day 01: Arrive Taipei (-/-/-)
Arrive in Taipei. Check in to your hotel for the next two nights. The rest of the day is free at your leisure.
Day 02: Taipei – Jiufen – Taipei (B/-/-)
Explore the highlights of Taipei including the Chiang Kai-Shek Memorial Hall, National Palace Museum, and more. In the afternoon visit Jiufen Village and the picturesque northeast coast.
Day 03: Taipei – Sun Moon Lake (B/-/-)
Travel to beautiful Sun Moon Lake. On the way you will stop at Puli, an area filled with culture and traditional arts. When you arrive in Sun Moon Lake National Scenic Area you will take a
tour to visit the Wenwu Temple, Holy Monk Shrine, and Ci En Pagoda. Enjoy the natural hot springs at your hotel.
Day 04: Sun Moon Lake – Kaohsiung (B/-/-)
After breakfast you will visit the most sacred Buddhist site in southern Taiwan. Interact with monks and nuns, before continuing to Kaohsiung. Here you will explore the sights including the Night Market.
Day 05: Kaohsiung – Kenting – Taitung (B/-/-)
Explore beautiful Kenting National Park. On the way to your famous hot spring hotel in Taitung you will also stop at the Eluanbi Lighthouse, Maobitou Scenic Area, and Longpan Park.
Day 06: Taitung – East Coast Scenic Area – Hualien (B/-/-)
Enjoy a tour of the stunning East Coast National Scenic Area. This area is bursting with natural beauty for you to explore including the terraced rocks. In the afternoon, continue to Hualien and check in for the night.
Day 07: Hualien – Taroko Gorge – Taipei (B/-/-)
Travel to the famous Taroko Gorge. The majestic gorge has been carved deep in to the marble that is plentiful in the area. On your way back to Taipei you will make a few stops to enjoy the natural scenery of the Swallow Grotto, Qingshui Cliff, and more.
Day 08: Taipei – Seoul (B/-/-)
Discover Taipei on a city tour. Transfer to the airport for your flight to Seoul. On arrival you will be met and transferred to your hotel for the night. The rest of the day is free at your leisure.
Day 09: Seoul – Gongju – Jeonju (B/-/-)
Travel to Gongju and explore the Tomb of King Muryeong and Gongsanseong Fortress. Continue to Jeonju and wander through the traditional Hanok Village.
Day 10: Jeonju – Suncheon – Yeosu (B/-/-)
After breakfast you will continue to Gwangju, home of modern democracy in South Korea. Visit the Bay Garden in Suncheon*, then continue to the port city of Yeosu and explore before checking in to your hotel for the night.
Day 11: Yeosu – Busan – Gyeongju (B/-/-)
Explore Jinjuseong Fortress, famous for its link to the Japanese invasion. Travel to Busan and wander through the Fish Market and take a tour of the beach area. Continue to Gyeongju and enjoy time at your leisure.
Day 12: Gyeongju – Andong – Wonju (B/-/-)
Today you will explore Gyeongju, a museum without walls, and visit the UNESCO World Heritage Listed Seokguram Grotto*. Then transfer to Andong and wander the World Heritage Listed Folk Village. Continue to Wonju for the night.
Day 13: Wonju – Pyeongchang – Mount Seorak – Seoul (B/-/-)
Visit famous Pyeongchang, then wander through the UNESCO Biosphere Preservation District of Seoraksan National Park, home to rare flora and fauna. Take the cable car to Gwongeumseong Fortress*. Afterwards travel to Seoul and make your own way to the hotel.
Day 14: Seoul (B/-/-)
This morning you will immerse yourself in bustling Seoul on a half day city tour. The afternoon is free at your leisure.
Day 15: Seoul – Tokyo (B/-/-)
After breakfast the day is free at your leisure until it is time to transfer to the airport for your flight to Tokyo. You will be met on arrival and transferred to your hotel for two nights.
Day 16: Tokyo (B/-/-)
Spend the morning exploring Meiji Shrine, the beautiful Imperial East Garden, and Asakusa. Return to the hotel on your own for an afternoon free at your leisure.
Day 17: Tokyo – Mount Fuji – Hakone (B/L/-)
Pack a small bag as your main luggage will be transferred to Kyoto. Today you travel towards majestic Mount Fuji, visiting the 5th Station and Hakone Ropeway. Relax on a magnificent Lake Ashi cruise before checking in to your hotel in Hakone.
Day 18: Hakone – Kyoto – Nara – Kyoto (B/-/-)
Transfer to the station by private car then take the bullet train to Kyoto where you will be met and transferred to your hotel for check in. Travel to Nara to explore Todaji Temple and feed the friendly bowing deer in the Park. Return to Kyoto for the night.
Day 19: Kyoto (B/L/-)
After breakfast you will enjoy a full day tour of historical Kyoto, taking in the wondrous temples and sights.
Day 20: Kyoto (B/-/-)
Enjoy a free day to explore Kyoto at your own pace. Why not explore the traditional tea houses in Gion and maybe even see a Geisha at work?
Day 21: Kyoto – Depart Osaka (B/-/-)
The morning is free at your leisure until it is time to take the shuttle from Kyoto to Osaka Airport for your onward flight.
