Japan is renowned for its charming sites, both natural and man-made, many of which have been accredited by UNESCO as the rare World Heritage. This 16 day Semi guided tour offer flexible departure dates, covers spectacular castles, ancient villages, beautiful gardens, spectacular Mountains, unique temples and shrines and its glorious history presents you with a distinctive and wonderful Japan at your own pace.

 

Day 01: Depart Australia (-/-/-)

Enjoy your overnight flight to Tokyo.

Day 02: Arrive Tokyo (-/-/-)

On Arrival in Tokyo, you will be met by our representative in the arrival hall and transferred to your Tokyo hotel, where you are based for the next 3 nights.

Day 03: Tokyo (B/-/-)

After breakfast, start your Tokyo Morning Tour including Meiji Shrine, Imperial Palace East Garden. Visit Asakusa Kannon temple and its shopping arcade. We finish in Tokyo station for free time shopping. Return to your accommodation on your own.

Day 04: Tokyo (B/-/-)

After breakfast, you have the full day free. You can simply walk around the hustling and bustling streets, enjoy some shopping or join one of our optional Tours to Mt. Fuji & Hakone or the Nikko World Heritage Tour.

Day 05: Tokyo – Takayama (B/-/-)

You’ll travel with just a small bag for your nights in Takayama, Shirakawago and Kanazawa. So this morning your main suitcase will be transferred directly from Tokyo to Kyoto. We then proceed to the nearest train station and board the bullet train to Nagoya and change to Express Train to Takayama. Upon arrival, you’ll make your own way to your accommodation.

Day 06: Takayama – Shirakawago (B/-/D)

This morning is at your leisure until noon, before we board the coach for Shirakawago. Upon arrival, you’ll make your own way to your accommodation and then enjoy further free time into the night.

Day 07: Shirakawago – Kanazawa (B/-/-)

Today, take a local bus to Kanazawa. Upon arrival, check in at your hotel. Enjoy Kanazawa city at your own pace or perhaps ask us to add an optional tour to Kanazawa Castle & Garden?

Day 08: Kanazawa – Kyoto (B/-/-)

After breakfast your morning is free until late afternoon, where we board another Express train to Kyoto. Upon arrival, we check in to your Hotel for 3 nights.

Day 09: Kyoto – Nara – Kyoto (B/-/-)

This morning we enjoy the Kyoto Walking Tour, and visit to Kiyomizu Temple, Kodaiji Temple, Yasaka Shrine and Gion district. In the afternoon, make your own way to Kyoto Station to meet your guide, then explore Nara including Todaiji Temple, Nara Deer Park and Kofukuji Temple.

Day 10: Kyoto (B/-/-)

A day at leisure today, to enjoy this ancient capital at your own pace. You may like to choose one of our optional tours to Sagano Bamboo Grove or Fushimi Inari shrine or even explore the traditional teahouses in Gion and spot a Geisha at work!

Day 11: Kyoto – Mt Koya (B/-/D)

This morning you will be met by English speaking assistant, at the hotel, before a transfer to Koyasan by train and cable car via Gokurakubash, up the mountain. (Your main suitcase will be shipped to your Osaka hotel, so again you will need a small bag) The afternoon is free to explore. Enjoy the temple stay at Fukuchin, as this is a once in a lifetime experience.

Day 12: Mt Koya – Hiroshima (B/-/-)

After breakfast, you’ll check-out of the Hotel and travel by cable car and bullet train to Hiroshima, on your own. Upon arrival, check-in at your hotel for 2 nights. The afternoon is free to again explore.

Day 13: Hiroshima (B/-/-)

Today, your day is free. You may like to join our optional tour of historic Hiroshima & Miyajima in a full day tour.

Day 14: Hiroshima – Osaka (B/-/-)

After breakfast, you’ll leave Hiroshima and travel by bullet train, to Osaka. On arrival, check in at your hotel and relax in the biggest port city in Japan, known for the latest architecture, vibrant nightlife and emphatic street food.

Day 15: Depart Osaka (B/-/-)

A morning exploring Osaka can’t go astray before its time to transfer to Osaka Airport by airport shuttle, for your flight home.

Day 16: Arrive Australia (-/-/-)

Arrive home in the morning.
