Day 01: Depart Australia – Arrive Seoul (-/-/-)
Depart Australia and arrive at ICN Airport, your driver will meet and transfer you to your hotel.
Day 02: Seoul – Gongju – Buyeo – Jeonju (B/-/-)
Travel to Gongju and explore the Gongsanseong Fortress, a magnificent mountain castle from the Baekje Dynasty. Then transfer to the ancient capital, Buyeo. Visit Baekje Cultural Land, and explore the Palace, Castle, and Cultural Hall. Continue to Jeonju and visit Hanok Village, home to 700 traditional Korean Hanok homes. Stay overnight at Jeonju Dongrakwon or similar.
Day 03: Jeonju – Suncheon – Yeosu (B/-/-)
After breakfast (outside the hotel), visit Songgwangsa Buddhist Temple and the Suncheonman National Garden, famous for its fields of reeds, it is the largest garden of its kind in Korea. Travel to the city of Yeosu and explore the Fish Market and Industrial Complex before checking in to the hotel.
Day 04: Yeosu – Jinju – Busan – Jeju (B/L/-)
Travel to Jinju and see Jinjuseong (Seong means Castle). If time allows you will also see Chokseoknu, an edifice linked to the Japanese invastion. Fly to Jeju Island (the ‘Hawaii of Asia’) from Gimhae Airport. Your guide will welcome and transfer you to the Sirius Hotel or similar for two nights.
Day 05: Jeju (B/L/-)
Enjoy a full day tour starting with CheonJeyeon Falls, then tangerine picking at the Tangerine Farm. Take a walk through the Olle (narrow pathway) and along the shores of Yongmeori Beach. If the beach is closed you will explore Sanbanggulsa Cave instead.
Day 06: Jeju – Busan (B/L/-)
View one of Jeju Island’s most magical sights, Seopjikoki, and its beautiful coastline of clifftops and deep ocean. Explore the World Heritage Listed Seongsan Ilchulbong Peak, then step back in time at the Seongup Folk Village, with its perfectly preserved Korean traditions. The Village is also home to Confucian Shrines and schools. If time permits you will explore the Museum of Natural History and learn about the environment and preservation. Fly from Jeju Airport to Busan and check in to the Western Haeundae or similar.
Day 07: Busan – Gyeonju (B/L/-)
Enjoy free time until visiting Gyeongju, a museum without walls. Gyeongju was the capital of the Shilla Dynasty for 1000yrs when Julius Caesar was subduing Gaul. It is an area full of significant and fascinating historical heritage. Check in to the Gyeongju Concord Hotel or similar.
Day 08: Gyeonju – Andong – Wonju (B/L/-)
Take a tour of the city, starting with the beautiful World Heritage Listed Bulguksa Temple. Travel to Andong and visit the Hahoe Folk Village which is known for its preservation of historical architecture and village structure from the Joseon Dynasty. Move on to Wonju, and the Chiaksan Mountain and Seom River, that make up the past capital of the Gangwon Province. Check in to the Wonju Interbulgo Hotel or similar.
Day 09: Wonju – Pyeongchang – Gangneung – Mt Seorak – Seoul (B/L/-)
Travel to the home of the 2018 Winter Olympics, Pyeongchang, where you will be guided by the Ski Jump Lounge’s Monorail Tour. Move to nearby Gangneung, with its clear blue sea, white sandy beaches, and vast pine forests, then explore Seongyojang Folklore Materials Pavilion which depicts nobility during the Joseon Dynasty. View the picturesque scenery of Mt Seorak National Park, Korea’s most famous national park due to its mountains and jade coloured water, as well as being World Heritage Listed due to the rare species of flora and fauna that are found here. Optional cable car ride to Gwonggeumseong. Transfer to Seoul for the evening.
Day 10: Seoul (B/L/-)
After breakfast, enjoy a full day tour including Gyeonbok Palace and the Royal Guard Changing Ceremony, the National Folk Museum, and the Korean Ginseng Centre. Finish the day admiring the cultural artefacts of the Korean Folk Village.
Day 11: Seoul – DMZ – Seoul (B/L/-)
Tour the famous Korean Demilitarized Zone, including Imgin Park, the Freedom Bridge, Unification Village, the Third Tunnel Exhibition Hall, Dora Obervatory and Mountain Station. After lunch you will return to Seoul and enjoy free time at Hongdae Fashion Street. Enjoy the famous Bibap Show and visit Insadong Antique Store Alley.
Day 12: Depart Seoul (B/-/-)
Enjoy free time in Seoul before transferring to Incheon International Airport for your flight home.
Day 13: Arrive Australia (-/-/-)
Arrive home dreaming of the sights of South Korea!
