Day 01: Depart Australia – Arrive Zhangjiajie (-/-/-)
Morning flight from Australia to Zhangjiajie via Guangzhou, upon arrival, transfer to the Pullman Hotel for three nights stay.
Day 02: Zhangjiajie (B/L/D)
Spend the day exploring Zhangjiajie in depth. You will enjoy the breathtaking scenery of subtropical forests, waterfalls, mountain ranges and majestic valleys (including the ‘floating pillars’ that inspired the scenery for the movie Avatar). With mountain ranges and valleys as the background, the scenery of this entire area is often described as a “goddess dancing on a heavenly stage”. *Optional evening show “Meilixiangxi”
Day 03: Zhangjiajie (B/L/D)
Return to explore Zhanglialie, popular attractions include the summit of Huangshizhai, the crystal clear waters of Golden Whip Stream, romantic cruises on Lake Baofeng, Huanglong Cave (the largest cave in Asia), and the Tianzishan scenic area for the stunning views of mountains and valleys.
Day 04: Tianmen Mountain Tour (B/L/D)
After breakfast, visit Tianmen Mountain and a ride in the longest cable car in the world, as well as the newly built Skyway. After lunch, visit Tujia Minority Village. Enjoy a Hunan style local banquet for dinner.
Day 05: Zhangjiajie – Yichang – Embark on Yangtze River Cruise (B/-/D)
After breakfast, free until transfer to railway station for your highspeed train to Yichang. You will be taken to enjoy a local dinner, before embarking on a four night upstream cruise along the Yangtze. (The cruise excursion itinerary is subject to change)
Day 06: Xiling Gorge – Three Gorges Dam (B/L/D)
Enjoy Taichi exercise before breakfast. Cruise through Xiling Gorge, and after lunch visit the Three Gorges Dam. You will pass through the Ship Lock. Today will also include a river briefing and the Captain’s Welcome Dinner with a fantastic crew cabaret performance.
Day 07: Wu Gorge (B/L/D)
Sail through the beauty of Wu Gorge, with steep cliffs, mystical mists, and mountainous forest. Join our excursion to the Lesser Three Gorges. After lunch, enjoy scenic cruising through Qutang Gorge.
Day 08: Yangtze River Cruising – Shibaozhai (B/L/D)
Take a shore excursion to Shibaozhai and ‘The Pearl of the Yangtze’. On board activities in the afternoon. Enjoy the Captain’s Farewell Dinner and Film Night.
Day 09: Chongqing – Jiuzhaigou (Nine Village Valley) (B/L/-)
Arrive in picturesque Chongqing in the morning, disembark after breakfast and transfer downtown to start your city tour including a visit to the Erlin Park, People’s Hall, and Three Gorges Museum. After a Sichuan Style Hot Pot lunch, visit People’s Hall and Jiefangbei shopping district. Transfer to the airport for your late afternoon flight to Jiuzhaigou. Upon arrival, transfer to the hotel in Huanglong for an overnight stay.
Day 10: Huanglong – Jiuzhaigou (B/L/D)
Visit Huanglong Valley, a magic landscape of limestone formations
made up of thousands of pools spread along the valley floor, with five waterfalls, four caves, and three ancient temples. Late afternoon transfer to your hotel in the Valley.
Day 11: Jiuzhaigou (B/L/D)
Spend the day exploring the beautiful World Heritage listed valley. Entering the valley transports you to an ethereal fairyland with crystal clear lakes gathered at the foot of the waterfall and rich coloured forests, with lush green meadows dotted with flowers. One of the world’s most natural splendid paintings unfolds along this scenic valley.
Day 12: Jiuzhaigou – Chengdu (B/L/D)
Fly to Chengdu and visit the Panda Breeding Centre. An optional Face Changing Cultural Show can be arranged for tonight if time permits. Check in to the Grand Mercure Chengdu for two nights stay.
Day 13: Chengdu (B/L/-)
Tour Chengdu including a visit to the nearby ancient town of Huanglongxi. Return to the city in the afternoon to visit Jingli Street and Kuanzhai Alley. Enjoy free time souvenir shopping and enjoy a cup of tea at the traditional tea house.
Day 14: Depart Chengdu (B/L/-)
After breakfast, tour Chengdu including a visit a local Bamboo Park and the Sanxingdui Museum. After a Sichuan style Dim Sum lunch, transfer to the airport for your afternoon flight back to Australia
Day 15: Arrive Australia (-/-/-)
Arrive home in the morning.
