Johannesburg, Kruger National Park, Eswatini (Swaziland), St Lucia, Durban, Golden Gate Highlands National Park, Burgersdorp, Addo Elephant Park, Tsitsikamma National Park, Oudtshoorn, Stellenbosch & Cape Town

This tour takes you throughout South Africa. You will make many stops on the way, with ample time to explore the cultural and wildlife highlights. You will travel in a Premium Overland Safari Vehicle, which guarantees each traveller a window seat for ultimate comfort. See the majestic African animals and learn about local culture and history.


Day 01: Arrive Johannesburg (-/-/-)

You will be met on arrival and transferred to your hotel for the night. The day is free for you to explore Johannesburg at your leisure. You will have a meet and greet with your group and Tour Leader in the evening.

Day 02: Johannesburg – Kruger National Park (B/-/D)

Travel to the famous Kruger National Park, where you can see the local wildlife in their natural habitat. Watch out for game as you enter the park on your way to your accommodation, the area is home to hippo, giraffe, elephants, lions, zebras, and more!

Drive Time: 8 hours

Day 03: Kruger National Park (B/-/D)

Look out for the Big 5 on a day filled with Game Drives! Relax by campfire in the evening and enjoy a sundowner. You could also book in an optional night Game Drive* (surcharges apply).

Day 04: Kruger National Park – Eswatini (B/-/D)

Today will be filled with local wildlife! Take a Game Drive through Matobo National Park, looking out for white and black rhino, antelope, impala, and more. You will also venture out on a special guided rhino walk.

Day 05: Eswatini (B/-/D)

Previously known as Swaziland, the landlocked country of Eswatini is home to an abundance of wildlife, and has a rich culture. Today you will visit Mlilwane Wildlife Sanctuary, where you are safe to walk amongst the beautiful scenery. You can also explore by bicycle or horse* (surcharges apply). Meet with a local tribe and learn about their history and traditions, including the controversial annual reed dance.

Day 06: Eswatini – St Lucia (B/-/-)

Today we will depart Eswatini and travel back in to South Africa. Travel south towards St Lucia, and landscapes including the UNESCO World Heritage Listed iSimangaliso Wetland Park. This stunning area includes lakes, coral reefs, dense woodlands, and coastal forests. In the afternoon you can admire the sunset on a boat cruise through the St Lucia Estuary, looking out for hippos, Nile crocodiles, and hundreds of different bird species.

Day 07: St Lucia (B/-/-)

After breakfast the day is free at your leisure to explore St Lucia. You could also try an optional activity such as snorkelling, boat tours, or Game Drives through the Reserve* (surcharges apply).

Day 08: St Lucia – Umhlanga Rocks (Durban) (B/-/-)

Continue towards the coastal city of Durban, staying in picturesque Umhlanga Rocks. The area boasts both the benefits of the city combined with the relaxed history of a coastal holiday town. For dinner venture out and sample some of the delicious local seafood.

Day 09: Umhlanga Rocks (Durban) – Golden Gate Highlands National Park (B/-/D)

After breakfast you will depart for the Golden Gate Highlands National Park, passing through the Drakensberg Mountain Range on the way. As you watch the stunning sunset you will marvel at the golden glow of the sun reflecting off the magnificent sandstone caves. The Park is home to numerous caves filled with San (Bushmen) rock paintings, as well as a variety of wildlife including mongoose and zebra.

Day 10: Golden Gate Highlands National Park (B/-/D)

Enjoy the day at your leisure to explore this beautiful National Park. Hike along a herbal trail and learn about medicinal plants used by traditional Africa Healers, or venture on a a Basotho cultural experience. If you’d like something more active, horse riding, abseiling, and white water rafting are also available!* (surcharges apply).

Day 11: Golden Gate Highlands National Park – Burgersdorp (B/-/D)

Start the day early and drive through the picturesque scenery of the Free State and Easter Cape Province. Check in to your accommodation in Burgersdorp, then enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure to explore this charming small town. You can also join an optional tour that will take you through the museum and church in town* (surcharges apply).

Day 12: Burgersdorp – Addo Elephant Park (B/-/D)

Continue on your journey south, through the semi desert, amongst the flat topped hills of the Karoo landscape. On arrival in Addo Elephant Park you will get to embark on an afternoon Game Drive. Look out for buffalo, lions, vultures, and of course, elephants! You can also add on an optional night Game Drive* (surcharges apply).

Day 13: Addo Elephant Park (B/-/D)

Enjoy the day in Addo Elephant Park! Start with an early morning Game Drive, returning to the Lodge in time for lunch. Take a siesta or relax in the swimming pool, before heading out on an afternoon Game Drive to see what other majestic wildlife you can find.

Day 14: Addo Elephant Park – Tsitsikamma National Park (B/-/D)

After breakfast you will continue on your journey, heading along the scenic Garden Route. Your destination is Tsitsikamma, an area filled with indigenous forest, plantations, and natural shrub land. Check in to your hotel, then enjoy the rest of the day at your leisure. You could take a self guided hike, or try black water tubing, bungee jumping, and more!* (surcharges apply).

Day 15: Tsitsikamma National Park (B/-/-)

This morning you will explore the Tsitsikamma National Park. Hike over the famous hanging bridge that crosses over the dark Storms River, and search for some of the famous bird life found in the area. Return to the Storm River Village to enjoy a local beer, or enjoy other activities including tree top canopy or segway tours* (surcharges apply).

Day 16: Tsitsikamma National Park – Oudtshoorn (B/-/-)

Travel further west along the Garden Route to the Ostrich capital of the world, Oudtshoorn. You will traverse over the Outeniqua Mountains, through lush forest and semi desert. In the afternoon you have the option to visit one of Oudtshoorn’s famous ostrich farms, or the spectacular Cango Caves* (surcharges apply).

Day 17: Oudtshoorn – Stellenbosch (B/-/-)

Today we travel to the second oldest European settlement in South Africa, Stellenbosch. The town is known for its many vineyards, and offers the perfect opportunity for you to try their local wines directly.

Drive Time: 7 hours

Day 18: Stellenbosch – Cape Town (B/-/-)

Continue on to your final destination, Cape Town! After checking in to your hotel for the next two nights, the day is free for you to explore this bustling city at your leisure. You could also add on an optional experience including a tour to famous Table Mountain, Robben Island, or the V & A Waterfront* (surcharges apply).

Day 19: Cape Town (B/-/-)

After breakfast you’ll embark on your final day tour in Africa! Travel to the Cape of Good Hope Nature Reserve at the tip of the Cape Peninsula. This UNESCO World Heritage Listed Area is home to beautiful native flora and stunning rugged cliffs. After lunch, visit famous Boulder’s Beach and see the endangered African Penguins as they nest and play.

Day 20: Depart Cape Town (B/-/-)

The day is free at your leisure until it is time to transfer to the airport for your onward flight.
