Sri Lanka

Lonely Planet’s #1 Destination for 2019, Sri Lanka has become a must see destination! Once known as Ceylon, its vibrant and plentiful tea plantations often still grow “Ceylon Tea”. The island is diverse, with beautiful white sandy beaches, lush rainforests, and picturesque hills. Some of the best safaris outside of Africa can be taken here, and the country is dedicated to wildlife preservation, with both Elephants and Turtles well protected in dedicated areas. Fauna is also plentiful in Sri Lanka, with the world’s oldest living planted tree an amazing sight to see. Local spices are grown and used in the flavourful traditional cuisine. Sri Lanka is also home to ancient sites, filled with Buddhist Shrines and Temples, relic chambers, stone carvings, and a number of UNESCO World Heritage Listed Sites (8!). This is juxtaposed with the modern buildings of the capital city such as the National Museum. Colombo is a combination of traditional colonial buildings, and modern high rises and shopping malls. It is also the home of the famous Pettah Bazaar, a vibrant neighbourhood filled with market stalls, places of worship, new shops, and locals pulling tuk tuks and heavy carts.

Bentota

Bentota is a coastal town in Sri Lanka, located inb the Galle District of the southern Province, governed by an Urban council. It is approximately 65 kilometers south of Colombo and 56 kilometres north of Galle.

Colombo

The capital of Sri Lanka, is a bustling city and a hopping-off point for beaches in the island nation’s south. It has a long history and a port on ancient east-west trade routes, rules successively by the Portuguese, Dutch and British.

Yala National Park

Yala National Park is the most visited and second largest national park in Sri Lanka. The park consists of five blocks, two of which are now open to the public, and also adjoining parks.
