Day 01: Depart Australia – Arrive Kunming (-/-/-)

Enjoy your morning flight to Kunming. Upon arrival you will meet our local guide and transfer to your hotel for the next two nights.

Day 02: Kunming – Stone Forest – Kunming (B/L/D)

After breakfast, you will travel by coach to the Stone Forest, a captivating maze of jagged limestone, which is truly one of nature’s greatest marvels. Enjoy dinner back in Kunming.

Day 03: Kunming to Dali – Domestic Flight (B/L/D)

Visit the famous Pu’er tea house in the morning, as well as Western Hill and Dragon Gate for spectacular city views. After lunch, transfer to Kunming airport for your flight to Dali. After arriving in Dali, visit the Cang Shan Mountains (by chairlift) and the famous Zhonghe Temple that dominates the Dali area. Stay in the Regent Hotel or similar for two nights.

Day 04: Dali (B/L/-)

After breakfast enjoy a city tour, visiting the Three Pagoda Temple and Reflection Lake, and Dali Ancient Town. After lunch takes a cruise on Er Hai Lake, enjoy the Bai Nationality 3 Course Tea Show, and visit Jinshuo and Nanzhao islands. Don’t forget the Marble Factory for souvenir shopping.

Day 05: Dali – Lijiang (B/L/D)

Coach drive to Lijiang this morning. In the afternoon explore this magnificent World Heritage Listed City and the Black Dragon Pool. Enjoy a Naxi style dinner and stay in the Sightseeing Hotel or similar for two nights.

Day 06: Lijiang (B/L/-)

This morning you will take a cable car ride to the spectacular summit of Jade Dragon Snow Mountain. Afterwards, visit Yufeng Lama Temple, Naxi Village, and Baisha Grotto.

Day 07: Lijiang – Shangri-La (Zhongdian) (B/L/D)

After breakfast, depart on your full day drive to Shangri-La via the spectacular Tiger Leaping Gorge. After checking in to the best local hotel, rest and acclimatise to the high altitude of this Tibetan border city or take an optional tour to visit a local Tibetan family and enjoy Yak butter tea and local snacks.

Day 08: Shangri-La – Kunming (B/L/-)

The Zhongdian area is believed to be the inspiration for the mystical Shangri-la in the famous novel ‘Lost Horizons’ and was renamed in 2001. Today’s tour includes visits to the Napa Lake Reserve, Bita Lake, Pu Da Cuo National Forest Park, and the Songzanlin Monastery known as little Portala Palace. Late in the afternoon, transfer to the airport for your flight back to Kunming.

Day 09: Kunming – Guilin (B/L/-)

After breakfast, tour the city of Kunming with stops at the flower market, West and East Pagodas, Golden Temple, and a local silk factory. Late afternoon fly to Guilin and transfer to your hotel for three nights stay.

Day 10: Guilin (B/L/D)

After breakfast, visit Elephant Trunk Hill, the symbol of Guilin, as well as the beautiful Reed Flute Caves. After lunch, enjoy souvenir shopping, stroll along the two rivers and four lakes around the city, or book a cheap but famous pedicure or foot massage in Guilin at your own cost.

Day 11: Longsheng Excursion (B/L/D)

Travel by coach to Longsheng, a remote and mountainous region located 80 km from Guilin. Highlights of the day will include the spectacular 1100m high Dragon’s Backbone Rice Terraces and a visit to a Zhuang minority village. Return to Guilin for dinner.

Day 12: Guilin – Yangshuo (B/L/-)

After breakfast, board a Li River Cruise for the scenically beautiful journey to the town of Yangshuo. During the cruise, you will pass by the uniquely shaped peaks, that have been the inspiration for so many Chinese classical landscape artists. Enjoy a freshly prepared lunch on board. On arrival in Yangshuo transfer to the local best hotel for your overnight stay. Spend the remainder of the day exploring the streets and shopping in this small market town.

Day 13: Yangshuo – Depart Guilin (B/L/-)

After breakfast, travel by coach to Guilin to visit Fubo Hill on the western banks of the Li River, and enjoy scenic views of Guilin city. Depending on time, visit the local market after lunch before transferring to the airport for your return flight.

Day 14: Arrive Australia (-/-/-)

Arrive home in the morning.
