Two neighbouring countries, that are as equally unique and beautiful as each other. Your tour will commence in India, where you will wander amongst stunning architecture, learning about the rich culture and history of the locals. Then travel to Sri Lanka, with an equally rich history, and beautiful monuments to explore. You will be able to get up close and personal with local creatures, from elephants to sea turtles, and learn why their preservation is so important. Enjoy delicious local cuisine in both destinations, fantastic local guides, and the very best of India and Sri Lanka!
Day 01: Arrive Delhi (-/-/D)
You will be met on arrival and transferred to your hotel. The rest of the day is free at your leisure to explore Delhi.
Day 02: Delhi (B/-/D)
Today you will tour through Delhi, seeing highlights such as the Raj Ghat and Red Fort. Enjoy a rickshaw ride through the bustling streets, and continue exploring the sights of New Delhi.
Day 03: Delhi – Jaipur (B/-/D)
Travel 260kms to Jaipur, taking in the spectacular sights. In the evening you will be enthralled with a cooking demonstration and meal undertaken by a noble family.
Day 04: Jaipur (B/-/D)
Explore the ancient capital of Amber, including fabulous Amber Fort. You will see some fascinating architecture and ruins before continuing on a city tour of Jaipur (with delicious local snacks!).
Day 05: Jaipur – Agra (B/-/D)
Drive to Agra, stopping at Fatehpur Sikri along the way. Fatehpur Sikri is a sight to behold, built from red sandstone and home to inspiring monuments.
Day 06: Agra – Depart Delhi – Arrive Colombo (B/-/-)
Watch the sunrise over the Taj Mahal before enjoying breakfast at the hotel. Explore famous Agra Fort before driving back to Delhi and transferring to the airport for your flight to Colombo. You will be met on arrival and transferred to your hotel.
Day 07: Colombo – Sigiriya (B/-/D)
Explore the city on a tour through the temples, residential areas, and the famous Pettah Bazaar. Travel to the treasured Dambulla Cave Temple then continue to your hotel in Sigiriya and check in.
Day 08: Sigiriya – Polonnaruwa – Sigiriya (B/L/D)
This morning you will take a walk through the jungle to a local village where you will enjoy a home cooked meal. In the afternoon visit the medieval capital of Polonnaruwa.
Day 09: Sigiriya – Kandy (B/-/D)
Visit the spectacular Sigiriya Rock Fortress, before heading to the Spice Gardens of Matale. You will stroll through beautiful gardens before continuing to Kandy and checking in to your hotel.
Day 10: Kandy (B/-/D)
Today is full of Sri Lanka’s fantastic culture and nature! Wander through the Temple of the Tooth, then visit the Pinnawala Elephant Orphanage. In the evening you will enjoy a vibrant cultural show.
Day 11: Kandy – Nuwara Eliya (B/-/D)
Travel to Nuwara Eliya, stopping at a lush Tea Plantation along the way. Try local Ceylon and learn about its cultivation and history. You’ll receive a delicious surprise when you check in to your hotel.
Day 12: Nuwara Eliya – Yala (B/-/D)
Get up close and personal with Sri Lanka’s greatest wildlife on a Jeep Safari in Yala National Park! From brightly coloured birds to magnificent leopards and elephants, you will not be disappointed.
Day 13: Yala – Galle (B/-/D)
Take the beautiful scenic drive to Galle, where you will explore the mixture of Portuguese, Dutch, and British heritage. Visit the Galle Dutch Fortress before checking in to your hotel.
Day 14: Galle – Depart Colombo (B/-/-)
After one last breakfast, stop at the famous Kosgoda Turtle Sanctuary before transferring to the airport for your onwards ﬂight.
**HOLI UPGRADE** this tour to travel during one of the most celebrated festivals of India. HOLI, called the “festival of love”, on this day people get to unite together forgetting all resentments and all types of bad feeling towards each other. The great Indian festival lasts for a day and a night, which starts on the Full Moon Day in the month March.
