Day 1: Australia – Ho Chi Minh City

Enjoy your overnight flight to Ho Chi Minh City.

Day 2: Arriving Ho Chi Minh City

Welcome to Vietnam! Arrive in Ho Chi Minh city, known as Saigon. In the afternoon, upon arrival, you will be met and transferred to our hotel by our local guide. Overnight in HCMC.

Day 3: Ho Chi Minh City – Mekong Delta (B,L,D)

Breakfast at hotel. Join a day trip to the watery world of the Mekong Delta. Take a cruise on Mekong River to visit islands. Here, you can have a chance to visit coconut candy workshop & taste fresh candy. Enjoy tropical fruits, honey tea & listen to Southern traditional music. Get on a small boat to discover a natural canal of Ben Tre province. Back to big boat by rowing boat on small canal. Lunch prior to driving back to Ho Chi Minh City for city tour including Reunification Palace or War Museum. Photo stops at famous tourist sites such as City Hall, Grand Theatre, Notre Dame Cathedral and Centre Post Office.

Day 4: Ho Chi Minh City – Cu Chi Tunnels – Tay Ninh (B,L,D)

Today explore the famous Cu Chi Tunnels where more than 200kms of tunnels were built by the Communist guerrillas during the war. Then continue to Tay Ninh to visit the Cao Dai Holy See Temple, a place of pilgrimage of Daoism, the unique religious cult in Southern Vietnam.

Day 5: Ho Chi Minh City – Dalat (B,L,D)

Today, we depart for the cooler climate of the Central Highlands by flying to Dalat, a beautiful hill station established by the French in the late 1890’s. Dalat is often referred to as the City of Eternal Spring, with its lush green forests and waterfalls. It is also the honeymoon capital of Vietnam with thousands of couples travelling to the city each year. This is not surprising as the entire area has a romantic flavour, especially the graceful architecture of the older buildings. Visit City Flower Park, local market, and take short ride on the old style train to reach TRAI MAT. Overnight in Dalat.

Day 6: Dalat – Nha Trang (B,L,D)

The city tour includes ZEN pagoda then summer palace of the late king Bao Dai. Also visit a local sweet jam shop. After lunch, we travel overland to Nha Trang. Arrive in Nha Trang and check in hotel for your 2 nights stay.

Day 7: Nha Trang (B,L)

Breakfast in the hotel. Take a boat ride to visit MUN Island, floating village and enjoy snorkelling. After lunch enjoy a sightseeing city tour of Pagoda Temple, Chong Rock, Giant Buddha built in 1963, Long Son Pagoda and stroll along the beaches and local shops.

Day 8: Nha Trang – Danang – Hoi An (B,L,D)

After breakfast, we say goodbye to Nha Trang and continue our journey north. Transfer to Camranh airport for short flight to Danang. Upon arrival, transfer to the UNESCO listed town of Hoi An. A former merchant trading port, Hoi An is a mixture of Vietnamese, Chinese, Japanese and French architecture and is a real treasure of Vietnam. Upon arrival, undertake a walking tour of the old centre of Hoi An. Visit an old merchant home, still lived in by descendants of the original merchant, the 400- year-old Japanese Covered Bridge and the colourful Hoi An market. Overnight in Hoi An.

Day 9: Hoi An – My Son Holly land (B,L)

This morning visit My Son, Vietnam’s most important Cham ruins site and Bang An, one of Vietnam’s best-preserved Cham towers. After lunch, you are free to wander around Hoi An at leisure and explore this ancient city.

Day 10: Hoi An – Hue (B,L,D)

Leaving Hoi An for Hue with a stop for visiting Marble Mountains before continuing over the Hai Van Pass to Hue. Hue is Vietnam’s ‘Imperial Capital’, the former home to the Nguyen Dynasty that ruled over the country from 1802 until the last emperor abdicated in 1945. We visit King Tu Duc’s tomb and Khai Dinh’s one. The tomb of Tu Duc, a 19th century Emperor who lived in the most splendid opulence, is regally set among groves of frangipani and pine trees. While moving from one to another, we make stop at some roadside families who make incenses and conical hats. Enjoy a relaxing boat trip on the Perfume River. Overnight in Hue.

Day 11: Hue – Hanoi (B,L,D)

A visit to Hue wouldn’t be completed without a visit to the Imperial Citadel which was modelled on the Forbidden City in Beijing. The Citadel was the centrepiece of the royal empire, a massive malted palace that was extensively damaged during the Vietnam War. Today visit Imperial Citadel, later visit Tu Duc Tomb. Light lunch at local restaurant then take an afternoon flight to Hanoi. Transfer to hotel for check in. Enjoy Water Puppet show tonight.

Day 12: Hanoi – Halong Bay (B,L,D)

This morning, we enjoy a half-day city tour of Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum (closed on Friday and Monday afternoon during September and October), One Pillar Pagoda, Temple of Literature, Hoan Kiem lake. Later in the afternoon, we travel through the striking rural countryside of the Red River Delta to the area that is regarded as the ‘Jewel in the Crown’ of Vietnam – Ha-long Bay.

Day 13: Halong Bay – Hanoi (B,L)

After breakfast, we cruise to explore the mystery and beauty of Halong Bay. The 5 hours boat ride will take you to visit one the best caves in Ha Long bay, Thien Cung (or heaven palace) caves with beautiful stalactites and stalagmites. This is followed by seafood lunch on board. In the afternoon, Travel back to Hanoi for your overnight stay.

Day 14: Hanoi – Australia (B)

After breakfast, free at your leisure before transferring to the airport for your overnight flight back to Australia.

Day 15: Arrive Australia

Arrive home and your fantastic Vietnam experience ends.
