Tour Itinerary
On arrival in Yangon you will start a full day of exploring the highlights of the city. Visit the Kaba Aye Pagoda and its famous silver Buddha, then compare it to the reclining Buddha at Chaukhtatgyi Pagoda. You will also have a chance to marvel at the golden dome of the Sule Pagoda, and of course visit the famous Shwedagon Pagoda to marvel at the sunset. Enjoy a delicious local meal for dinner and check in to your hotel for the next three nights.
Travel around the Gulf of Mottama and stop at the Htauk Kyant Allied War Memorial Cemetery, before continuing on your way to Bago. See the 30m high sitting Buddhas at Kyaik Pun Paya, then visit a local monastery to watch the local monks going about their daily lives. Wander through other beautiful traditional shrines and temples, before returning to Yangon.
Today you will venture across the river to Thanlyin. Explore the golden Kyaik Khauk Pagoda, said to contain two hairs from the Buddha himself. You will also see the Kyauktan Pagoda, located on a tiny island in the middle of the river. Travel back to Yangon for a delicious final lunch together, and explore the Nanthida Jetty. Spend time at the Botataung Pagoda, while it was destroyed during WWII, it has been rebuilt as a replica of the original. Wander through the Bogyoke Aung San Market, containing over 2,000 stalls and the perfect place for local handicrafts.
The day is free at your leisure until it is time to transfer to the airport for your onward flight.
