Your stay will be at Vivanta by Taj Malabar hotel, situated on Willingdon island with stunning views of Cochin harbour. Your day journey on a beautifully converted houseboat will be the opportunity to sit back & relax, watch birds, read a book or simply doze as the lush, sleepy jungle slips by. You will end your trip on an absolute high with your stay at Taj Falaknuma Palace. A perfect place to explore Hyderabad’s grand palaces, museums, streets, monuments and uncover its fascinating history.

Day 01: Depart Australia – Arrive Bangalore (-/-/-)

Morning flight to Bangalore, upon arrival, you will be met by our friendly local team and transferred to hotel two nights. Rest of the day will be at leisure. Stay at Hotel Taj West- end in Bangalore.

Day 02: Bangalore Sightseeing (B/-/-)

Today after breakfast enjoy full day sightseeing tour of Bangalore includes the visit to the Cubbon Park-the city’s lungs and a cool retreat during all hours of the day. Drive past the Vidhana Souda, a magnificent building which houses the state legislature and the secretariat. Lal Bagh the best botanical gardens in the country. The Bangalore Fort and the Tipu Sultan’s Palace. The Bull Temple – built in the Dravidian style of architecture, dates back to the times of Kempe Gowda (mid sixteenth century) also visit Iskon temple if time permits.

Day 03: Bangalore to Kochi (B/-/-)

Today we will transfer you to Bangalore airport for your flight to Cochin. On arrival, meet and transfer you to Hotel Vivanta by Taj Malabar, Cochin. Rest of the day will be at leisure. Kochi, better known as Cochin is Kerala’s most cosmopolitan city. It was the main trading centre for spices and seafood, the town is in fact a collection of narrow islands. Whilst the more modern Ernakulum boasts restaurants, new built modern shopping malls and commercial complexes, the Mattancherri and Fort Cochin area is still traditional and retains much of its original architecture and old world charm.

Day 04: Kochi sightseeing tour (B/-/-)

You will explore the Mattancherri area of the city today. The area is a jumble of antique and Spice shops, and souvenir shop leading to the Synagogue, the oldest active Synagogue in India and home to many rare antiques. Later you explore the Heritage Zone, which with its varied architectural styles highlights Cochin’s history of being occupied by various foreign rulers. St Francis’ Church, first established by the Portuguese in the 1500s. You will also visit the Santa Cruz Cathedral which was built in the late 19th century and has impressive murals on its ceiling. The walking tour ends at the Chinese Fishing Nets, which were first erected between 1350 and 1450 indicating trading ties with China.

Day 05: Backwaters (B/L/-)

Today after breakfast we will transfer you to Alleppey where you will embark on a Houseboat for a day cruising experience. A visit to Kerala is incomplete without a tour of the backwaters. A labyrinthine maze of canals which wind their way through the state, they support a unique lifestyle, one which is dictated by the waters. Enjoy a leisurely journey through the Kuttanadu area of the backwaters. Lunch will be served on the boat and after evening tea you will disembark from houseboat and check in at Hotel Vivanta by Taj, Kumarakom

Day 06: Kumarakom (B/-/-)

Today will be at leisure and you can relax on the Poolside or go for a spa/ Ayurvedic treatments. KUMARAKOM – the vibrant backwater hamlet Perched on the eastern banks of the mighty Lake Vembanad is the sleepy little town of Kumarakom in central Kerala. The heartland of Kerala’s famed backwaters, Kumarakom has changed little since the middle ages but for its string of exotic resorts that makes it the perfect jumping – off point to explore the backwaters, especially for a first time visitor to this chilli-shaped state on the southwestern tip of India endorsed by the National Geographic Traveller as one the 10 paradises on Earth!

Day 07: Kochi – Hyderabad (B/-/-)

After breakfast, transfer to Kochi airport for your flight to Hyderabad. On arrival, you will be transferred to Taj Falaknuma Palace, Hyderabad for two nights stay. India’s latest palace hotel – “Taj Falaknuma Palace” or “mirror of the sky”. It was the royal guest house of the Nizam of Hyderabad. This sixty room palace was once the sole preserve of royalty. Among the dignitaries who have made it their abode are King George V and the last Russian Tsar Nicolas II. It is home to priceless art and artefacts, ornate inlaid furniture from Kashmir, rich handcrafted tapestries and brocades from France, and intricate frescos with English and Indian influences. Taj Falaknuma now stands full of splendour and regality, that is just unmatched!!

Day 08: Hyderabad (B/-/-)

Built on ancient granites bed, famous for its gem stones, especially the magnificent Kohinoor diamond that decorates the crown worn by British royalty, Hyderabad is famous for its beautiful “monuments, mosques and mistresses”. Enjoy a guided sightseeing tour of Hyderabad. Enjoy an exclusive walk along the quaint and bustling by-lanes of Begum Bazaar and Charminar. Then visit Mecca Masjid or Grand Mosque, the vast mosque can accommodate 10,000 at prayers. After lunch spends the afternoon strolling through Lad Bazaar. Happily chaotic and colourful like all Indian markets. Your last stop is at the beautifully restored Chowmahalla Palace. It is where the Asif Jahi dynasty entertained their royal guests and visitors. Also visit Salarjung museum, which is largest one man collections of antiques in the world. Overnight stay at Taj Falaknuma Palace.

Day 09: Depart Hyderabad (B/-/-)

After breakfast, free day at leisure to enjoy the hotel facilities. Later we will transfer you to the airport for your flight back home.

Day 10: Arrive Australia (-/-/-)

Arrive home in the evening.
