Johannesburg, Victoria Falls, Chobe National Park, Johannesburg
Day 01: Johannesburg – Victoria Falls (Zimbabwe) (-/-/-)
Mid-morning departure. Hotel transfer on arrival at Victoria Falls Airport. Zimbabwe offers the visitor a host of natural wonders, not least of which is the legendary Victoria Falls, Mosi-Oa-Tunya or The Smoke That Thunders. In modern terms Victoria Falls is known as the greatest curtain of falling water in the world. Afternoon at leisure to explore the Victoria Falls Village, that’s been transformed by explorers, hunters and missionaries. A mere stroll through the village will give you a sense of the African cultures and history that have shaped the former frontier town. Overnight in Victoria Falls.
Day 02: Victoria Falls (Zimbabwe) (B/-/-)
After breakfast, enjoy a guided tour of the Victoria Falls, one of the seven natural wonders of the world. With a width of 1.7kms, the Falls have the capacity to push 550 000m3 of water per minute over the basalt cliff into the Zambezi River Gorge. The cliff over which the falls thunder, transforms the Zambezi from a placid river into a ferocious torrent, cutting through a series of dramatic gorges. Later this afternoon, you’ll experience the other-worldly grandeur when you board a cruise boat for a sun downer cruise along the Zambezi River, in search of hippo, crocodile and elephant in their home environment. Remainder of the day at leisure.
Day 03: Victoria Falls (Zimbabwe) – Chobe National Park (Botswana) (B/L/D)
Road transfer to Chobe National Park, located in the north east of Botswana, flanked by the Okavango Delta and Moremi Game Reserve. When in flood, the Zambezi River pushes the Chobe River back on itself and links with the Linyati River, forming a biosphere that is very unique in Africa. The Park is home to 450 bird species and Africa’s largest concentration of elephants combined with magnificent wildlife sightings. Overnight in the Chobe National Park area.
Day 04: Chobe National Park (B/L/D)
Thrilling game drives in open safari vehicles lead by professional, qualified guides bring you close to hippos, buffalos, puku and other animals that gather on the banks of the Chobe River. After experiencing the magnificent Chobe National Park you will be taken back to your lodge for lunch. Later in the afternoon, after a siesta, enjoy afternoon tea with the Chobe River as a back drop before departing for your afternoon game viewing activity. Overnight in the Chobe National Park area.
